Tom Price is a purpose-built iron ore mining town situated approximately 1,530 kilometres north of Perth in the West Pilbara, adjacent to the Hamersley Range and Karijini National Park. The town is the operational hub for Rio Tinto's Pilbara iron ore network, including the Brockman and Marandoo mine operations. Tom Price Hospital provides local health services. The community is almost entirely dependent on the mining industry, with a residential workforce supplemented by a significant FIFO rotation. The nearby Paraburdoo community (60km south) falls within the same health and retail catchment, with both towns serviced by Rio Tinto's integrated operations.
