Broome is the main gateway to the Kimberley and one of WA's most significant tourism destinations, situated approximately 2,240 kilometres north of Perth on the Dampier Peninsula. The town has a significant and long-established Indigenous population - particularly the Yawuru people - alongside a tourism and hospitality industry that creates strong seasonal population fluctuations between the dry season (April-October) and the wet.
