The town's permanent population of approximately 10,000 is dwarfed by its tourism throughput, and the local pharmacy market reflects this: high seasonal variation in dispensing volumes, a significant hospitality and marine industry workforce, and a visitor catchment that includes international tourists requiring medication advice and dispensing services.
